About Me

I am a UKCP-Registered psychotherapist, National Counselling Society-accredited counsellor and ACTO-accredited online therapist.

I am a Certified Transactional Analyst Psychotherapist based in Chorlton, South Manchester and I have been in private practice since 2014 offering short-term and open-ended therapy. I am currently offering online therapy for individuals, and I anticipate being able to offer in-person therapy from September 2021.

Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that looks at how we become who we are, and how we grow and change during the course of life. It allows us to look at your current life and difficulties as well as how these difficulties came to be. This knowledge can then be used to support you in resolving or clarifying the issues you bring to therapy.

People come to therapy for various reasons. Examples include wanting to work through a difficulty in life, for help with a diagnosed or undiagnosed  psychological problem (for example anxiety or depression), being in the midst of challenging circumstances or a difficult relationship, wanting  to resolve issues from the past, or even just to gain clarity about life and its trajectories. There are no right or wrong reasons to come to therapy. All are valid.

In terms of how long the therapy should last, I  suggest a minimum of six sessions in order to allow sufficient time to derive therapeutic benefit. Beyond this initial period, therapy is flexible. Working with a therapist is a unique process, individual to you and your circumstances. So we can discuss and agree an appropriate period of time for you as the therapy progresses.

Having been through a process of psychotherapy myself. I am now passionate about therapy, and the opportunities it presents for feeling better, exploring change and for resolving personal issues and difficulties in life.
