Soraya Shaw is an online executive coach

What attracted you to become a coach?

The opportunity to be a conduit for people to feel supported, trusted and championed.

Where did you train?

In 2003 with the Neuroleadership Institute in personal, business and executive coaching.

What kind of coaching do you offer?

Midlife coaching for businesswomen who are transitioning either within roles, relationships, family, career, personal health or future planning.

How does coaching help?

Supportive, confidential conversation to explore the balance they want to create in their lives as for the first time they are more established in their lives and in a position to think about themselves and their future.

What sort of coaching clients do you usually see?

Businesswomen who have achieved success and now want to plan where next. They are also interested in how working from a brain-based perspective they can discover how to age better, tap into latent potential and wisdom, and protect their health.

Do you ever suggest books or other materials to clients?

Always – being a neurobased coach of over 20 years I have developed a library of articles, techniques and insights to further support them to learn from.

What do you like about being a coach?

The wonderful people I meet. The trust and openness you are privileged to share. And seeing people reach the potential they only dreamed about achieving.

What is less pleasant?

Life is never clear of sadness, ill-health or problems.

What is one life lesson you try to live by?

Everyone is their own person and have their own choices.

What do you wish people knew about coaching?

That it is about uncovering potential, hidden talents and about the wonderful feeling of being listened to and sharing in an open yet structured conversation.

Do you have a favourite client testimonial or particular success story?

"Soraya has the acute ability to see things clearly, as they are. She is a very considerate individual who clearly loves people but also has a natural inquisitiveness and wants to know how they tick. She is a good listener and often hears what others miss because her intention is to solve the problem and delve into why things happen. I contact Soraya for insight and knowledge, she is without a doubt an incredible thinker and a very tuned coach to have on your side."
