About Me

I am an experienced psychotherapist, qualified and registered with UKCP since 2003. Over those years I have worked with all kinds of people, bringing all kinds of life issues and dilemmas. Your reason for seeking therapy might be depression, anxiety, relationship issues, loneliness, a search for meaning, or something less easily defined ....Everyone is unique and we will work together to find the right next steps for you.

My main training is in Core Process Psychotherapy. This combines the insights of modern psychology with experiential, embodied  awareness and a Buddhist-inspired, mindfulness-based, approach to relieving suffering and moving towards well-being. I have also trained in Focusing - a practice that helps us to listen more deeply to ourselves to find what is implicit or emerging, which may be really helpful when wrestling with stuck situations or problems.  Other training includes Art Therapy and Writing for Therapeutic Purposes - writing or artwork for well-being can be a great support and adjunct to talking therapy.

We will discuss what is right for you in the initial assessment session. Work can be time-limited  (usually 6-10 weekly sessions)  or it can be open-ended, continuing as long as you feel it is fruitful, creative and supportive.

My experience has taught me to trust the wisdom of the psyche, which has its own rhythms and has a self-healing capacity, just as the body does. With careful and attentive listening, and the trust that comes from this, losses and traumas can be processed and mourned, we can come into  a new relationship with the past, new insights can be gained, and we can move forward towards embodying more of our potential.
