About me
I am an integrative psychotherapist- this means my approach to therapy utilises insight and wisdom from a range of psychotherapeutic traditions. This might include working with you to reflect on your developmental and relational patterns; as well as working in a compassionate way with your here and now reality. Many people find that talking about their story with a professional precipitates a natural process of change. I find mindfulness informed psychotherapy a key tool to boost resilience in short term work and also offer open ended exploratory psychotherapy where very often we need to explore developmental trauma that can shape our lives in such profound ways. As well as private practice I am an experienced therapist who works within staff and student counselling in higher education. I have a particular interest in working with Study Abroad and international students as they navigate not only the transitions within the education sphere but also the social and interpersonal losses that need to be processed when working and studying 'abroad'. I established a counselling service for a leading higher education institute and continue to offer consultancy and training for a range of higher education providers. I am a co-founder of Pause Counselling and Psychotherapy, an independent group therapy practice which offers counselling and consultancy to a range of organisations. I am also Director of Tending Together- a consultancy based organisation which develops training and offers reflective practice spaces within areas of anti-racism and anti-oppressive practice. Our work may be short term 6-12 sessions , or an open ended contract, with meetings taking place weekly. My other areas of specialization include negotiating life transitions, working with loss, bereavement, and trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges. I am also interested in exploring the inter-generational and cross cultural challenges within the lives of the people I work. I am registered with Axa PPP, Vitality, Aviva and GeoBlue/Chubb health insurance. Please get in touch to arrange an initial consultation
