Patricia Grey
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
I am a qualified and accredited integrative and embodied-relational psychotherapist and counsellor, working in Bethnal Green, in central London. I also work online and by phone. I am an accredited member of UKCP and a registered member of BACP. I work with individual adults, offering both long- and short-term therapy. I offer a safe, confidential, warm and non-judgmental environment in which to explore the issues that bring you to therapy.
People seek therapy for all sorts of reasons. It may be a specific crisis or problem that you need help with, you might wish to get in touch with yourself at a deeper level, to try to unravel the patterns that seem to hold you back, or you may see it as an opportunity for personal development.
I am experienced in working with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, work-related problems, panic attacks, trauma, domestic violence, abuse, childhood sexual abuse, bereavement, loss, relationship difficulties, loneliness, illness, self-esteem issues, sexuality and sex-related problems.
My integrative training means that I can adapt my way of working to suit each client's unique needs, which may change as we work together. I am interested in how our experiences from the past shape our present, in terms of relationships, self-image and self-beliefs. I work empathically with you, with an awareness of both what has happened in the past and what is happening now.
I work at your pace, helping you to discover more about your self and facilitating your growth in self-awareness and authenticity. I believe that as this happens, and you become more self-aware, you naturally begin to make better choices.
As well as working in private practice, I have previously worked as a counsellor at One in Four, a charity supporting survivors of sexual abuse in childhood, and at a low-cost therapy service in south London. I have worked with adults from teenagers to post-retirement, from a variety of backgrounds. I also worked as a volunteer group facilitator on a psychiatric ward in south London.

Fees
The fee for an initial session of 50 minutes is £75 and fees thereafter are from £75 (depending on time of day and your circumstances) per weekly session of 50 minutes.
Our introductory session gives us an opportunity to meet, to explore what brings you to therapy now and what you hope to gain. We can also discuss any fears you may have about being in therapy. You might choose to visit a few therapists before deciding on who you would like to work with, and there is no obligation to continue working with me.
I can sometimes offer a reduced rate during the day to students and those on low income. These spaces are very limited. Please ask if you feel this applies to you.
Training and qualifications
I trained at the Minister Centre in London, and have an MA and Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy & Counselling and a Diploma in Integrative Counselling. Further training has led to an Advanced Diploma in Embodied Relational Therapy and a Diploma in Ecotherapy. I am also a trained practitioner of AIT (Advanced Integrative Therapy), a gentle but effective way of working with the originating causes of current distress and trauma, using the body's energy system.
I am an accredited member of UKCP and a registered member of BACP, and I abide by their codes of ethics. As a professional psychotherapist and counsellor I am committed to regular continuing professional development to inform and enhance my practice.
