About Me

I am a warm, experienced and straightforward therapist.

Since 2010, I have worked successfully with people of various ethnicities, backgrounds, sexual identities and ages to address issues such as depression, anxiety, imposter syndrome, people-pleasing, relationships, family, cultural issues, work, bereavement, loss, trauma, sexuality, identity, purpose, career change/redundancy, creative blocks, self-esteem and confidence amongst many others.

I am normally based in Shoreditch, Central London EC2. However, I am now working solely via video / phone sessions, using either Zoom, FaceTime, Hangouts, Skype, WhatsApp or via phone call.

I decided to retrain as a therapist following my own positive experience with a counsellor during a period where I felt lost and stuck in various aspects of my life. I knew then that I wanted to support and empower others in the same way.

It now gives me great deal of satisfaction to work with people who bravely face their difficulties head on, in order to achieve their goals. Witnessing the subtle and powerful changes that people experience when they are truly accepting of themselves is a great privilege and never fails to move me.

My Therapy Approach

I understand that your experiences, challenges, pain and gifts are completely unique to you and a one-size-fits-all model won't suit everyone.

As an integratively-trained counsellor and psychotherapist, I individually tailor my approach to suit your needs, using a wide range of thinking and techniques.

I think it is important to seek to understand the entirety of the person I am working with and therefore my approach is relational, holistic and sensitive to social, sexual and cultural difference and diversity.

I believe that how we relate to and see ourselves, how we connect to others and how we view the world around us is heavily influenced by the significant relationships we have/have had within our lives.

In taking the time and space to identify and understand these enduring relational themes, we can find greater ease in managing our lives, reconnect to a stronger sense of our own identity and develop healthier ways of communicating and connecting with others.

Paying attention to what happens between us in the therapy room may also reflect processes that happen outside. I work from the position that awareness, healing and growth happens in relationship and that the quality of relationship between client and therapist, regardless of therapy type, is the bedrock of successful therapy.

My priority is therefore to co-create an environment of trust, mutual respect and joint collaboration that will allow you to feel safe enough to dare to explore the aspects of your life that challenge you the most.

What next?

I know how difficult it can be to seek therapy, let alone choose from the wide range of practitioners available. With that in mind, I offer the following:

  • A free and informal 15-20 minute telephone/video call to talk through any questions you might have about therapy, prior to booking an initial meeting online.

  • An initial meeting and assessment (50-60 minutes), to get a feel for me and how we might work together. There is no obligation to continue after that, should you so wish.

I was also a specialist bereavement counsellor with Camden, City of Islington and Westminster Bereavement Service and a therapist at The Minster Centre Counselling and Psychotherapy Service.
