Maura Hamer
PsychotherapistAbout Me
I am a body-oriented therapist offering therapy both in-person and online via video-link (or telephone-based where appropriate). My approach is integrative, combining talking therapy with creative arts-based exploration and bodywork techniques to support your individual needs. I am inspired by the potential of the creative process to address issues that are difficult to access and express with words. Therefore we might sometimes bring awareness to the body, or use movement or image-work to guide our work together.
Trained and qualified in dance movement psychotherapy at the University of Roehampton, with a foundation diploma in integrative arts therapies, I have been working with clients since 2016. I am aware of the hurdles that many people encounter in accessing therapeutic support, and we will work at your pace to address the issues you are facing. I have experience working with a wide range of issues including self-esteem, anxiety, bereavement, chronic health-conditions, trauma, sexual abuse, addiction and eating disorders.
As a fully qualified member of ADMP UK (Association of Dance Movement Psychotherapy) and trainee-member of UKCP, I charge £60 for a session.
I am also undertaking further psychotherapy training in transpersonal integrative psychotherapy, and as such I have some low-cost/free spaces too.
