Marie HAMNETT
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
I am an integrative Psychotherapist and generally work within a 'relational' approach. I have much experience of working with trauma and abuse, in particular Sexual Abuse and have also worked with Eating Disorders.
I have many years experience in Primary Care work having been based in GP surgeries where I worked with a wide range of issues. In addition I have worked across a number of Employee Assisted Schemes and am familiar with a range of workplace issues in a wide range of workplace including NHS, Teaching, Social Work to mention a few. I have worked with a number of organisations offering specific support, including a Breast Cancer charity, and an Eating Disorders Service and I have particular interest in issues which affect Women.
I have an interest in the effects of abuse and trauma and the issue of 'dissociation', which is often a symptom/sign of trauma. I am interested in how the body will often show us underlying emotional issues and how mindfulness and 'paying attention' to the body can influence recovery.
In recent years I have become aware of huge pressure in the workplace and I have interest in helping those at a cross roads in their careers or looking for better work life balance.
