About me
I am an experienced, qualified Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Supervisor. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space so that you can feel supported and empowered to explore the concerns and dilemmas that have brought you to counselling. As an integrative practitioner, I am always guided by the individual needs and complexities of my clients and am able to draw on different approaches and techniques that suit the person you are and the circumstances you face. Life can often feel overwhelming, anxiety-provoking or confusing. You may have experienced a profound loss or be dealing with a traumatic event or personal crisis. It might be a period of professional or personal upheaval or you may be living with a feeling of persistent sadness or harsh self-criticism. In our work together we could be working towards recognising and changing negative patterns of behaving, thinking or relating; we might be focusing on ways of improving communication or finding strategies for managing difficult situations. We may be unravelling a particularly entrenched sense of stuckness or working towards improving self-esteem. At all times, my goal is to support you in feeling more confident, more resilient and better equipped to take steps that will enhance the quality of your life. I have worked with a diverse range of clients in low-cost therapy and community counselling services and in private practice. I work with adult men and women from all walks of life and many different backgrounds and cultures. I have also worked as a cancer counsellor, patient group facilitator and supervisor at The Mulberry Centre and as an oncology counsellor at The London Clinic. I offer supervision and consultancy to Breast Cancer Now. Receiving a diagnosis, coping with medical treatments and through periods of pain and uncertainty, adjusting to a changed reality or an altered identity that may result from living with a physical illness or disability are extremely challenging experiences. I am committed to supporting my clients and being alongside them as they explore their own unique psychological and emotional responses to the situations in which they find themselves.
