Kirsty Anderson
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and Pyschotherapeutic Counsellor. I am a registered member of the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy ) and a member of the Northern Guild of Psychotherapy in Jesmond where I trained. I have been working with a wide range of issues including :- stress, depression, anxiety, bereavement, early trauma and relationship issues.
I have been working with clients in the NHS primary care setting for a number of years and have worked with a broad range of issues. My work is all supervised in accordance with UKCP guidelines and I adhere to the UKCP Code of Ethics.
Having trained in Integrative Psychotherapy, I work in a relational way, with an underlying model of Transactional Analysis as my foundation. Working relationally means that we will look at what happens between us in the therapy room as a tool to explore relationships you have with others. Transactional Analysis is a way of understanding and intervening in human behaviour and empowering people to take responsibility for their lives.
What is central to my work is empathy, unconditional positive regard, warmth, respectful challenge, congruence and respect.
Above all, what is important to me is that I can offer you a safe, non judgemental confidential space to help explore and work through the situation or patterns of behaviour which have brought you to therapy.
