About Me

Whether you are anxious, depressed, broken-hearted, overwhelmed, grieving or questioning the direction and purpose of your life, therapy offers the possibility of living differently.

As a client and a therapist, I have found that it’s good to talk with someone who’s not a friend or family member. The people who know and love us can find it difficult to listen when we are distressed and hurting. They may assume that they know why we feel as we do and be quick to offer misplaced, if well-intentioned, advice.

Therapy isn’t about assumptions or advice. It’s about having space to explore why things are the way they are at the moment and what might be able to shift or change.

I offer an open, safe, reflective and confidential space where you will feel supported to work towards a life that works for you.

Training and qualifications

I hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling from Minster Centre, London, an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling from Middlesex University and an MA in Graduate Liberal Studies from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. As part of my training I engaged in my own personal therapy for over 10 years and so am intimately aware of what it is like to be a client.

As Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) I abide by their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

Working integratively and relationally.  'Integratively' means that I take the whole person into account.  Attending to the experience of the body, mind and heart encourages wellbeing.  Likewise, looking at our past can help us understand our present, which in turn can empower us to make choices about the kind of future we want. When I say I work relationally it means that I believe the relationship between client and therapist is of utmost importance. A warm, safe and trusting relationship provides a base from which to explore whatever it is that brings you to therapy.

Looking for a therapist is a daunting task. It’s a brave step, talking someone you don’t know about the intimate parts of your life, your fears, your grief, thoughts or habits that are holding you back. I recognise this and deeply respect the step you are taking.
