About Me

I'm an experienced psychotherapist with a background in human resource management.

I offer individual and group psychotherapy to adults age 18 and over.

At present I work mainly online. However, if you’re interested in working with me in-person, from January 2024, I have availability for long-term, Individual, psychodynamic psychotherapy in Wigan. Please enquire for details.

My Approach

I work psychodynamically using  transactional analysis (TA) this approach helps you make connections between past experiences and current difficulties.

TA is psychotherapy that emphasises personal growth and starts from the premise that:

  • You’re OK.
  • You have the ability to think and problem solve.
  • Change is possible.

    You’ll benefit from TA therapy
with me if you’re open to self-reflection and interested in gaining a better understanding of yourself and others

How can therapy help?

TA Psychotherapy can help with:

  • Processing traumatic events.
  • Issues of identity, community and belonging.
  • Developing clear boundaries.
  • Workplace stress,  burnout  and overwhelm
  • Managing anxiety, depression and low mood,
  • Navigating life transitions, endings, losses and new beginnings.
  • Enhancing relationships.
  • Feelings of sadness, anger, fear and grief.
  • Building confidence and self-esteem.

What will therapy be like?

If you choose to work with me, we will spend some time working out what you would like to achieve.

i offer a safe space where difficult experiences, troubling thoughts and big feelings can be expressed, heard and thought about.  During sessions I may offer my own reflections and insights.  I will definitely ask questions and encourage you to express your own thoughts and feelings.

We’ll use ideas and concepts from TA to help make connections between past experiences and current difficulties and notice how unconscious thoughts and feelings might be preventing you from achieving what you want in the present.

My aim is that you leave therapy feeling more resourceful, confident and with a stronger sense of self.
