About Me

About Joanna

''A calm, safe and relaxing environment to self discover without judgement is what helps bring clarity, empowerment and awareness to my clients''

- Joanna Stokoe.

Considering therapy? Let me tell you a little about me and what I offer;

I use mixed modalities of Counselling skills, Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy within my practice, meaning I work in a fully integrative way. I use a variety tools and understandings from many therapeutic models to aid you in self understanding and ultimately, to feel better and more empowered.

I work with you, to help you get back to yourself - To feel more in control, help to relieve worries and concerns, work on self-compassion and gain problem solving skills, for the long term. Allowing you to become your greatest problem solver.

As an integrative therapist, I've found that there is no 'one size fits all' approach. Life can change from one moment to the next bringing new challenges, so mixtures in approach is ideal in therapy.

I specialise in a number of subjects and support clients from many different backgrounds and difficulties - please see ''Issues often worked with'' below.

My qualifications are accredited by the NSPsy, IHA and NCH.

I am also registered with the NCIP and the CNHC, which I adhere to the ethics and guidelines of.

Initial Session & Fees

The initial meeting with your therapist will be the time to look into what has brought you to therapy, what goals or expectations you have and to decide whether this is the right place for you.

The initial session would also be your opportunity to ask any questions and raise any concerns or thoughts you may have regarding therapy.

Thereafter, if you decide to work together, your sessions would take place on regular or semi-flexible basis - usually once a week. Our therapists offer short term counselling as well as long term psychotherapy, and also hypnotherapy.
