About Me

Hello there,

I’m Jessica and I imagine you are here looking for a right fit counsellor/therapist, in the hope of working towards some sort of life change. We know that life doesn’t always feel easy or straightforward; sometimes too, years of pushing down on things can play catch up.

Perhaps you feel disconnected and are looking for meaning in your life; we can work towards your experiencing this as more of a tangible, felt sense. Or maybe you are fed up of feeling angry, lonely, sad, and aware that you're playing small in life? It could be you are looking for a safe (trauma informed) and supportive guide in helping you unpack and process some difficult past trauma which you feel is adversely impacting you. Whatever is currently going on, I work with a relational focus and will walk alongside you to rediscover an intimacy, self-belief and knowing that you may have forgotten.

My training:

I am an Integrative Transpersonal Counsellor, which loosely means I welcome and employ different ways of working according to your needs, my best discernment and, very often, based on what organically arises in the moment. It also means my approach - Psychosynthesis - whilst rooted in psychoanalysis, looks to incorporate any spiritual leaning or orientation if this presents.

By way of background:

About 10 years ago, I began to notice links and associations between the various stages of my life, aswell as meaningful synchronicities; it was then I chose to really examine my past and the person I was today. I made the switch from a glamorous career in travel (and bit time actor), to something more aligned with who I felt I was in my core and undertook a year’s foundation and subsequent diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling. Whilst training, I volunteered at a trauma informed women’s counselling service, providing short term therapy to self-identifying women from all backgrounds. I have particular interests in C-PTSD, attachment trauma and Boarding School Syndrome.

I haven’t looked back and work on a self-employed basis, both in private practice in the South Downs NP (hillsandstarscounselling.co.uk) and on a low cost basis for Wellbeing in the Arts.
