About Me

Hello, I'd like to introduce myself. I am a licensed Psychotherapeutic Counsellor specializing in Anxiety disorders, depression, self-harm, PTSD and Complex PTSD, ADHD, and rejection, abandonment and grief. I work with relationship and communication problems, including those recovering from or going through breakups, divorce, affairs. I am passionate about working through issues around low self esteem, a weak sense of self, boundary problems and emotional difficulties, and helping my clients to maximise their autonomy. Other areas I work in are: fertility difficulties, miscarriage, also post partum depression, and post abortion problems. If you are or have experienced domestic abuse and want to talk about it, I'm here.

I work from a Integrative Transactional Analysis core training, which addresses communication difficulties and relationship difficulties. Working empathically is really important to me, and also relationally. I see the therapeutic relationship as a healing for relational disruption throughout life. I am interested in working with attachment trauma and anyone who has difficulty forming and maintaining attachments. My practice is informed by new neurobiological research findings. I have a particular interest in ADHD and have completed the UKAAN's Diagnosis Training Course. Often the effect of having undiagnosed ADHD can have devastating consequences in terms of low self esteem, fears of being a failure, impulsivity, addictions, relationship problems, chronic anxiety and depression. It gives me great pleasure to help clients overcome these difficulties and find hope for the future.

I am passionate about people gaining a nurturing and compassionate attitude towards themselves that can facilitate personal growth and sense of self, overcoming low self esteem and hindrances. I like to work collaboratively and help clients to find their own sense of agency. If you would like me to work with you through the challenges you are experiencing then do get in touch.

I can do long or short term work. In the first session we will discuss the issues you have, I will ask you some questions and you can ask me any questions you have about therapy. We will look at what you hope to achieve through the therapy process. We will arrange a regular time for your appointment. Appointments are typically 50 minutes long once a week. We will initially arrange to work together for 6 sessions and then review and evaluate progress. I will give you some idea of the length of time therapy will be for the issue you have brought to look at, but this would only be an approximation, or it may be an open ended agreement. I look forward to hearing from you.

Feedback from my clients:

Jeannette is a truly exceptional therapist who has made a profound impact on my life. She is warm, caring, and always goes the extra mile to make me feel heard and understood. Her expertise in transactional analysis has opened my eyes to my inner ego states and helped me understand why I do the things I do. Jeannette's kindness and empathy have been especially helpful during my fertility journey, which was a difficult time for me. As someone with ADHD, it's so comforting to have a therapist who understands neurodiversity and can provide real insights and tools to help me manage my challenges. Jeannette goes above and beyond, too. She always checks in with me between sessions to see how I'm doing. She's just such a lovely and caring person, and I feel so lucky to have found her.

Jeannette is very empathetic and understands what I am trying to say. She helps untangle my feelings so I understand how they are affecting me. Excellent.

I have had a lot of therapists in the past and Jeannette has been the best by far. We've only had a few sessions together but I couldn't be happier with the support she has given me. Jeannette is kind, considerate, knowledgeable, professional and truly cares. I'm really grateful that she's my therapist and look forward to working together to get through this difficult period in my life and better myself for the future.

Over the last few months, Jeannette has supported me in understanding my anxiety, recognising my triggers and the ways in which my anxiety manifests itself. Jeannette is always professional, understanding, balanced and very informed in her approach. She has shared so many useful resources with me so that I can understand my feelings and develop tangible solutions to overcoming them, which means that I can see personal development both in our weekly sessions and independently in my day-to-day life. Earlier this year, I believed that the negative thoughts I was experiencing were going to be a permanent fixture of my life, but Jeannette has helped me access a completely different, positive headspace. I can’t thank her enough for how much more positive and happy I feel!
