Jeanette Lester Integrative counsellor , TN13
Hi,I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, meaning that I am not fixed in one perspective. I use a wide variety of approaches including CBT, person -centred and solution focused brief therapy.
I combined these approaches according to the client's needs believing no two people or issue can be solved with one process.
My training includes working for DAVSS - domestic abuse charity as an advisor. I have also worked at West Kent College as a student counsellor .At present ,I work for The Place 2B charity ,as a children's counsellor .
I work from the premise that our early experiences have a big influence on who we are today. From the early years, we learn to adapt to our environment, often at the cost of our more creative and unique aspects. I see those experiences as powerful forces subconsciously shaping our lives, determining how we are in the world now, how we relate to others and what is the relationship with ourselves.
Therapy provides an opportunity to heal the wounds of the painful disconnections from the past by expressing your truth in a confidential and non-judgemental space. It can be challenging, but it can present opportunities for growth and life that feels more real and satisfying.
I attend regular supervision and attend training sessions on a regular basis in a variety of counselling topics.
I am fully insured and DBS checked .My services are tailored to assist children, young people and adults .
Currently ,we are in the midst of unpredictable and challenging times. It can help to be able to talk about your worst fears ,and you can do so whilst self isolating from the safety of your home or office.
Due to the coronavirus epidemic ,I currently only offer on- line counselling /Therapy via Skype,Zoom or phone .All calls are strictly confidential . I offer reduced fees to people who have lost their jobs and students.
