Jamie Crabb
PsychotherapistAbout Me
Hi, my name is Jamie. I am a qualified therapist offering one-to-one, short and long-term counselling and psychotherapy in North London. You can view my most up-to-date availability and book for a session via my website calendar https://www.jamiecrabbtherapy.com/calendar and view detailed information about me and my practice on my website https://www.jamiecrabbtherapy.com/
I have worked with adults and young people within both educational and therapeutic settings for over fifteen years. I work mindfully of cultural diversity, beliefs and values and am experienced working with a broad range of areas including:
- stress
- self-esteem
- anger
- depression
- anxiety and panic
- body issues
- family and relationship difficulties
- identity, sexuality, gender and sexual relationship diversity
- loss and bereavement
- disability, long-term health and neurodiversity (autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and other specific learning differences)
- the experience of growing up in foster care - Care Experience
My approach is relational and non-judgemental as I believe that a good therapeutic relationship is based on trust and honesty. Most importantly the way I work begins with listening. I am passionate about getting to know and understand those I work with to fully understand the difficulties they are experiencing and the goals they hope to achieve.
As an integrative therapist, I draw on a broad range approaches informed by different theoretical and practice traditions in the field of therapy including humanistic, psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioural (CBT) and body-oriented approaches to reflect your individual needs. I work relationally, which means I believe exploring the relationship between us is an important part of our therapy as a means to support you to explore challenges you may be experiencing.
You can expect a friendly, warm and confidential environment when working with me. My aim is to support you to explore the relationship between your past and present, and the integration of thoughts, feelings, physical and bodily experience. I will be honest, reflective, open, and curious in our work. Together we will create a space for you to look in and experience yourself, then gather the strength to make changes that you hope for and achieve greater vitality and meaning in life.
