About Me

I am a qualified integrative counsellor and I run a private practice in Stroud, Gloucestershire.

I believe that the therapeutic process is collaborative. I offer you a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space in which, together, we can explore and untangle difficulties in your life so that you can begin to make changes and find a way forward.

My practice is trauma-informed. I am aware of the profound impact that trauma can have on individuals and on all of us collectively. I also believe deeply in our resilience as human beings, and our ability to heal in the right environment with the right support. I focus on collaborating with my clients, empowering them, ensuring they always feel safe.

I am trained as an integrative counsellor meaning I hold in mind and draw upon different theories depending on what I feel would benefit each individual client. The main theories I integrate in my practice are: psychodynamic theories, specifically Object Relations and Attachment Theory, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis.

My approach is also relational which means that along with the issues you bring to explore in therapy, I’m interested in the relationship between us, as well as the ways in which you relate to yourself and others in your life. Our relationship can provide us with valuable insight into unconscious patterns of thinking and behaviour so they can be understood and challenged.

I have experience working with a range of presenting issues however, I have a particular passion for, and interest in, the postnatal period, pregnancy loss, breastfeeding grief, birth trauma and the journey into motherhood.

It's completely natural to feel some apprehension, fear or anxiety when considering starting counselling. In our first session you'll have the opportunity to ask questions about the process and my way of working. It is also your opportunity to get a sense of whether or not you are comfortable with me and would like to work with me.

If we agree to work together, sessions are then held weekly for 50 minutes. Feel free to contact me for a free initial phone consultation.
