Francesca Rutherford
Psychoanalytic psychotherapistAbout Me
I am a parent-infant-psychotherapist. I have many years experience of working with families and their children. My specialism and passion is work with parents and their babies from conception to two years old, The 1,001 Critical Days.
I understand how this time can be experienced as a vulnerable and overwhelming one and that having feelings of ambivalence towards the unborn or new baby is common. Sometimes unwelcome and unexpected feelings can arise, often out of the blue during this time which can be painful and hard to make sense of.
I offer a professional, non judgemental and caring approach to working with you to address the difficulties that you may be facing during this sensitive time.
It is also a critical time when the babies brain is developing fast and when emerging difficulties within the parent-infant relationship can be best supported and helpfully transformed.
I firmly believe that early help can offer the best outcomes for relationship and attachment issues and for concerns about meeting the demands of parenthood.
I work with adults considering parenthood as well as pregnant woman, single parents and couples with their baby, to help us to understand what might be happening both internally and within the family to address issues that arise together. Sessions can include any important figures in the babies life.
I work face to face or online.
