Integrative counsellorAbout Me
Through my personal journey as a client and my professional experience as a therapist, I have come to understand the significant impact of the therapeutic relationship on change and healing. My priority is the client, and providing safety within the relationship gradually leads to exploration of feelings and experiences.
Informed by the Person-Centred approach developed by psychologist Carl Rogers, I prioritize empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity within the therapeutic relationship. This approach values the client as the expert of their own journey, with the therapist guiding them towards personal growth and self-awareness. I also integrate Attachment-Based Psychotherapy into my practice, focusing on how early attachment experiences influence present behaviors and relationships. By helping clients understand the impact of these early relationships on their attachment style and current behaviors, I aim to promote insight and positive changes that enhance their well-being and relationships. Advances in neuroscience and somatic studies have highlighted the intricate connection between our bodies and minds, demonstrating how emotional experiences can manifest physically and affect various aspects of our lives. I incorporate somatic work to bridge the body-mind-emotion connection, promoting holistic healing and integration for my clients. By combining these therapeutic approaches, I strive to create a supportive environment that empowers clients to deepen their self-awareness, navigate relationships effectively, and embark on a journey of growth and transformation. I welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds, offering both short-term and long-term therapy options tailored to their specific needs.
