About Me

Do you feel like the emotional baggage of life is weighing you down? Would you like someone you can explore your thoughts with? Who can help you navigate the messiness of life with, and start to unpick and make sense of your experiences? My name is Emma, and I am a compassionate, friendly and professional psychotherapist who can help you navigate who you are and start to build the life you want.

I am also a registered adult nurse with over ten years of experience working with long term conditions and terminal illness. I believe our mental and physical health are inextricably linked and my work aims to shine a light on how these two aspects interact in your life.

My approach is to guide you through your experiences, both past and present, and for us to work together to create an understanding of who you are in the world and how you interact with your environment, paving the way for a more authentic you.

Fees

I charge £80 per 50 minute session.

I offer an initial no cost 15-minute chat, either over the phone or via Zoom. This is a chance for you to ask me questions and get a sense of how I work and if I am the right fit for you.

Training and qualifications

I am a member of the BACP and am a NMC registered Adult Nurse. I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Existential Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I am currently working towards a UKCP accredited Professional Doctorate in Existential Counselling & Psychotherapy. I am also a member of the Universities Psychotherapy and Counselling Association.

My background in nursing has given me years of experience working with people with chronic illness and with those having palliative care. I know the value of a compassionate and supportive space in which we can work together to create meaning and acceptance of the cards life has dealt us.

I hold professional, personal and civil indemnity insurance and work in accordance with the BACP's Ethical Framework.
