CounsellorAbout Me
Coming to therapy or counselling can be intimidating, so I aim to put people at ease and strive to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere. My approach is relational-integrative. This means that I work collaboratively with you to ensure that you get from the sessions what you need. My route into therapy:
From a young age I knew that I wanted to work with people, so first became a nurse and later a nurse lecturer. I was never that drawn to the high tech side, but particularly enjoyed the areas of nursing where I could build up a relationship with the people I cared for, such as general medicine, rehabilitation, elderly care, chronic and terminal illness. My interest in talking with people led me to train as a counsellor and psychotherapist and eventually to develop a full time therapy practice. Although I have been seeing clients for 25 years, for me each client and each therapy session is new. I am continually fascinated by the human spirit and our need and ability to create meaning out of the things that happen in our lives.
