I'm Denise Marleyn - an accredited, UKCP Registered integrative psychotherapist, Advanced hypno-psychotherapist and EMDR Therapist based in Leighton Buzzard and Milton Keynes. I've been offering supportive, non-judgemental and compassionate psychotherapy with additional hypnotherapy where appropriate, since 1994 and use a range of techniques and therapy approaches suited to the particular needs of each person I work with.

During your Assessment session we discuss what's brought you to therapy, what you want to achieve and then collaboratively agree on a way to help you get there. Whether you have a specific problem or worry, are feeling anxious or low or even overwhelmed and struggling to cope or want to be free from unwanted behaviours it's likely I can help you with my integrative, eclectic approach. I work with individuals both in short- and long-term therapy , according to your needs.

I initially trained in hypno-psychotherapy (psychotherapy which specialises in the additional use of hypnosis) with the National College of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy and am accredited and regulated by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), abiding by their Code of Ethics and Practice. I am fully insured and supervised as required by this national governing body for psychotherapy. I am also a fully trained EMDR Therapist: I also undertake additional, regular monthly supervision for my EMDR work from an accredited EMDR Consultant.

I've undergone additional training in Counselling, EMDR, Gestalt psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Emotional Regulation/Affect Management Skills Training. I've also taken further training in working with IBS and Eating Disorders and undertaken extensive research in, and learnt techniques for, working with trauma.

I specialise in trauma and PTSD as well as anxiety/panic, IBS, low self-esteem/confidence and weight/body issues. I also have considerable experience working with other issues such as - but not limited to - fears/phobias, social anxiety /public speaking, anger managment, pain managment, bullying, quit smoking and weight loss, obsessions and compulsions and hypotherapy for exam /driving test, preparation/nerves and improving academic or sports performance.
