David Keenan
Integrative counsellorAbout Me
I have been working as a qualified counsellor since 1998 and in that time I have worked with a wide range of people from different communities. I have worked in the voluntary sector and within the NHS, I have worked in socially deprived areas and for organisations that work with a specific client group. I have also managed four different counselling services. Although I specialise in working with difference in gender and sexuality, because of my experience of working with a wide ranging group of people I have a vast experience of working with a variety of presenting issues. I am also a qualified teacher in Further Education and alongside my practice I spend two days a week teaching counselling in a local college. I have previously taught in a variety of colleges and universities in the Greater Manchester region and have been invited as a guest lecturer to deliver workshops and seminars in a variety of colleges, universities and organisations across the north of England. I have been qualified as a casework supervisor since 2001 and have built up a sizeable caseload of both qualified counsellors and counsellors in training. I also work as an external consultant supervisor for counselling agencies in the voluntary sector.
