Craig Coventry
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
I am a BACP registered and accredited Counsellor, Psychotherapist and trauma therapist. Specialising in sexual/ Domestic abuse, neglect, traumatic events, PTSD, C-PTSD, Personality Disorders). I also work with anxiety, depression, stress, life direction and many other client difficulties. What I can offer you is the opportunity to find healing through self-exploration, strategies for emotional regulation & tolerance, opportunities to work through thought processes and an accepting, welcoming environment aiming to promote growth through human connection.
As a primarily Person-Centred therapist, my work aims to help you explore and understand your internal processes; whether they be emotional and/or thought processes and the overall experience of the difficulties you are having.
My initial training was a BSC in Psychology and Counselling at the University of Roehampton. I then continued training further at Roehampton by undertaking their 3yr part-time MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy whilst working part-time as a counsellor in a local college and for a local charity's over 18's service.
Currently, I am doing further training as in trauma therapy through the Wealden Psychology Institute.
My Approach
I am an Integrative practitioner with a 'Person-Centred' base approach. This means that my way of working focuses on helping you to get in touch with your emotional and psychological processes, allowing you to learn the best way to navigate yourself through your situations. This is achieved through creating an empathic, non-judgemental and real relationship. The rationale behind this approach is that each individual can find the wisdom and knowledge to do what is best for them by using their inner resources and experiences- however at times may need help processing to make sense of their lives and situations. I am Integrative by, at times, adopting principles from other therapies when I feel it is necessary with a client.
