About me
Let’s be honest, it’s all a bit daunting really. When you decided you might need to talk to someone, you probably didn’t know where to begin. After a Google search, the algorithm gods have led you here. There’s all these smiling people telling you why you should come to them with your problems. The titles and initials next to our names likely don’t mean a great deal to you, and you’ll notice, nearly everyone here says a variation of the same thing about themselves anyway. So how can you tell us apart really? I won’t give you much patter. This specialism, that theory, this many years, that many qualifications… The bottom line as to whether I will be of help to you or not— and the research backs this up— is whether we can relate to one another well. You’ll get a small sense of me from what I’ve said here, but ultimately, you won’t know whether I am someone you think you could get along with, trust and share your life with until we’ve met. This is why I offer a free initial chat. No pressure, no commitment. You’ll quickly get a feel for how I work. I’m friendly, I’m curious to know you, I’m present with you, and I ask a lot of questions about you. I believe my role is to facilitate a deeper understanding of self for you, and frankly, I’m good at it. Changes in life may come out of that— they usually do— but that will be up to you in the end. If we want to continue after this first exchange, we’ll discuss a day/time and fee that suits then. If we don’t, you’ll at least know a lot more about what you’re looking for in a therapist.

Training and qualifications
CPCAB Level 4 in Therapeutic Counselling My training was centred around an integrative approach to therapy which draws on a number of theories and techniques. The key focus of the integrative approach to therapy is to be sensitive and responsive to people’s needs as they are during the sessions. This has the advantage of creating a flexible process that is not rigid in ideas and application, and allows people to freely explore their experiences.
