I am a Europe accredited EMDR Consultant, a BACP accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist and a Supervisor individuals and groups, NHS and private with wide ranging knowledge and over twenty six years experience in all aspects of psychotherapeutic work.   I offer a warm, professional and ethical approach working both short and long term, in private practice and for the NHS; providing EMDR treatment and clinical supervision, counselling / psychotherapy, and online courses ranging from building personal resilience, preparing for EMDR therapy through to improving business mindset. I have trained in many different approaches and in consultation with my clients I tailor the way that I work to best suit the individual and their unique circumstances. The types of issues I regularly work with include anxiety, depression, bereavement and grief and all types of trauma ranging from road traffic collisions, physical and sexual assaults / abuse, through to war related events and witnesses of crime , fears and phobias vaccine and needle phobia are common at the moment , working with people to enable them to tolerate MRI scans, a specialist gut directed hypnotherapy programme for IBS, using your mind to support and target conventional medicine e.g. radiotherapy , building personal resilience and improving sports performance. My work is informed by current research that indicates the most effective approaches for specific problems e.g. EMDR for trauma, specific gut directed programme for IBS etc... . As an experienced and accredited EMDR Consultant I am passionate about this way of working. I actively encourage and support EMDR therapists and enjoy supervising the work of other practitioners and assisting them through the professional accreditation process. This has included voluntary work for Trauma Aid UK, supervising EMDR therapists working in the Middle East and supporting NHS staff during the pandemic. Closer to home myself and a colleague founded the EMDR Association Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire regional group www.emdrbedsbucksherts.org.uk .  As the chair of this group I was delighted to be presented with the Ericka Johanson Award for 2024 - 2026 at the 2024 EMDR national conference in York.  This national award recognises excellence in the furtherance of EMDR in the UK.
