Hi - My name is Byron.
I set up in Private Practice in 2017.
I have an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and am an Accredited Registrant Member of the National Counselling Society and Mindfulness Association. My background prior to counselling was as a Mindfulness Trainer and Behaviour Interventions.
I work with clients in the here and now. That does not mean we avoid the past, but we explore what our current experience is. I am trained as an integrative therapist. What this means is that I will be flexible in my approach in order to meet each client's needs.
Also, I feel transparency is very important when you pay for a service. So I encourage you to ask questions.
The service is confidential. There are some exceptions - but these centre around keeping you and others safe and to ensure ethical and safe practice.
What can you expect from this service?
It is important that we understand that I act as a support and consultant helping you achieve results for yourself in relation to a specific agreed situation. So it is a collaboration where you can be honest without the feeling of being judged and where we can deal with what arises in a way that is important to you.
As such - in order to be effective and clear - we establish with clarity what it is that you want to work on.
We also look at how this would benefit you and how these changes might positively affect your life...so we can stay focused and see if we are moving towards this.
Having defined this we can then see what obstacles there are and work through these using effective exploration and evaluation tools.
