Ben Stewart
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
Approaching therapy can be a frightening decision but going through difficult moments in life alone may be even worse.
I aim to make therapy a place for you to come and really look at what is going on, so together we can begin to see things from a new angle. Sometimes we might find answers, but often it means opening to uncertainty where there may be new or hidden parts of us that want to be known. In this space, I hope to facilitate the unfolding of new choices and meanings.
My practice informs me primarily to be curious and take courage from this process, and it is with this attitude that I invite you. I am a student member of the BACP and abide by their ethical guidelines.
I have worked with clients who have experienced anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, change of identity, self-esteem issues, trauma, anger, shame, bullying, abuse, sexuality issues, sex / intimacy issues, loss / bereavement, boarding school and separation.
I am a trainee integrative psychotherapist in my last semester at the Minster Centre, one of Europe’s foremost institutes for integrative counselling and psychotherapy.
My Approach
Integrative psychotherapy means that no one way is the right way. I believe each client calls for a unique therapy and so I work individually with the client in front of me and the relationship that we build together. I have been trained in psychodynamic, humanistic, body and relational modalities. I use these to help you find a more grounded and whole life that works for you.
I work through the lens of our various intersectionalities, understanding that the body is the source of emotion, power and powerlessness, and is co-regulated via another.
Getting Started
I offer a free 30-minute consultation where we can discuss in more detail your current situation. It is an opportunity to see if we can work together. With that in mind we can discuss a therapy plan. I offer both long and short term work.
