Beibei Mu
Integrative counsellorAbout Me
I trust that human beings have the innate wisdom and the ability to heal and to grow if we are provided with enough support from our environment, just as seeds can germinate with enough sunshine, water and oxygen. During the therapeutic journey, I will not walk ahead of you, but alongside you, giving central focus to your feelings and witnessing your experiences. In the process, we may attend to your childhood experiences, explore how they might affect you now in your relationships and life choices. These patterns of relating may reappear between us, and I will work with you relationally to understand these patterns and to experiment with new ways of being. I will support you in moving towards a sense of clarity, purpose and renewal, and towards self-fulfilment and transformation.
I hold an awareness of differences and diversity, recognising how one’s cultural context and experience can shape one’s life. I believe that many psychological issues are not only individual, but also a result of the collective cultural environment we live in. The question of ‘who am I?’ is often dependent on ‘who am I culturally?’. We can explore how the wider context of the outside word is affecting your inner world.
I keep a balance between supporting and challenging you, and tailor my approach to suit your needs and draw from a range of disciplines and theoretical knowledge. My work is influenced by the schools of transpersonal, Jungian, psychodynamic and gestalt.
