About Me

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working in Bristol.

You may have come to counselling with a specific issue or problem you wish to focus on or more generalised feelings of unhappiness. I can offer time to reflect in a safe, empathic and confidential environment to look at difficult feelings and experiences. Sharing our unspoken thoughts and feelings can be hugely transformative, helping us to become more resilient, while allowing us to make our own choices to form a more fulfilling life for ourselves.

I believe the development of a trusting relationship between therapist and client is fundamental to therapeutic work. I see the therapeutic process as a collaborative one, with me working alongside you to support the development of a greater understanding of yourself and your relationship with others.

The integrative relational model I work from uses ideas from psychodynamic, transpersonal and humanistic theory. This model allows me to respond to clients in a unique manner with flexibility and creativity.

I have 15 years experience of working with people within health and wellbeing settings. Initially as a nurse trained and working in North Bristol Trust later within community health care setting in East London. I  have worked therapeutically with clients within the voluntary sector since 2016.  I have worked with people in grief, depression, anxiety and chronic illness, alongside  I can offer open-ended long term work or time limited dependent on your needs and circumstance. Currently I work online at my home in Bristol.

After you make contact through email I suggested we have a brief telephone chat after which we would be able to set up a time for our initial consultation. During this time we can discuss your reasons for coming to therapy and your hopes for it along with looking at questions you have about how we might work together. The initial consultation will be charged at £45. If you decide that we are a good fit to work together sessions following that will be 50 minutes long, typically on a weekly basis at a cost of £65.

If you would like to make an appointment or have any questions you wish to discuss please do contact me.

Training and qualifications

I completed my diploma in Integrative Counselling at the Mary Ward Centre, where I was required to be in therapy myself throughout my training. My diploma is accredited by the BACP, I continue to follow their ethical guidelines.

I started my professional life as a nurse working on neurosurgical wards. This experience has allowed me to develop a very relational way with clients and gave me a real insight into the diversity and complexities of the human experience.

During my 3 year therapeutic training as a counsellor I worked in a pioneering community centre in Tower Hamlets. Working alongside people to empower and support them to make changes to better their health and wellbeing.
