Following on from years of previous experience working closely to support individuals, groups and families, I have extended my understanding of the effects of neglect, abuse, trauma and loss in childhood and beyond in training at Masters level in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have worked in a role empowering others since I first graduated from University. I chose to specialise in counselling and psychotherapy to increase the intensity and therefore effectiveness of this work placing all my resources into direct work with others, giving them my full focus and undivided attention whilst supporting them in navigating difficult times. Coming from a humanistic - relational approach and informed by Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural theory, my work considers the past as impactful on present thoughts, feelings and behaviour.

Building a therapeutic relationship is an enjoyable and essential aspect of therapy and one that I feel privileged to be a part of. It is fulfilling to be a part of someone's life, to support growth and experience change.

Talking therapies give us the opportunity to explore our experiences introspectively, as though we are an onlooker of our life events past and present. As your therapist I will encourage and support you to define and discover how those experiences impact on your decisions and behaviour.

Accessing support can be a difficult step to take, the prospect of being one's true self with another can be daunting. My years of experience of working closely with people's lives has developed a broad-mindedness that is open to all thought. You will have a safe space where you will be met with a non-judgemental attitude. The sharing of all your thoughts and feelings will be encouraged and respected.
