About Me

Hello, I'm Tom, and I'm not just a counsellor; I'm your companion on the journey to better mental well-being!

As a friendly and adaptable counsellor, I understand the importance of creating a safe and supportive space for you. The sessions will be adapted to you, allowing you to take as much or little time as you need during sessions.

Outside the counselling room, I share my life with a lively 6-month-old cocker spaniel (who, as much as she'd love to, would not be present during our sessions)! My love for walking and cycling in the great outdoors reflects my belief in the therapeutic power of the simple things in life. Together, we can explore how making uncomplicated changes to your life can contribute to your mental well-being. What sets me apart is not just my professional expertise, but my personal journey through anxiety. I've navigated the challenges of anxiety myself and experienced firsthand the transformative impact therapy can have on an individual's life. This lived experience enables me to approach our sessions with empathy, understanding, and a genuine commitment to supporting you on your path to healing.

Let's embark on this journey together, where compassion meets expertise, and every step forward is a step toward a brighter tomorrow.

Training and qualifications

I am a proud graduate of Leeds Beckett University, where I earned my Masters in Integrative Counselling, a journey that has shaped the foundation of my counselling approach. My commitment to understanding and integrating various therapeutic modalities is reflected in my academic achievements. I believe in a no "one size fits all policy".

Over the past 24 months, I've actively engaged with clients, honing my skills through practical experience while completing my training. This hands-on approach has been complemented by continuous professional development, ensuring that my knowledge remains current and relevant in the ever-evolving field of mental health. Beyond my counselling specialisation, I hold a degree in Business Studies, adding a unique perspective to my practice. This blend of business acumen and therapeutic expertise allows me to approach counselling with a well-rounded and adaptable mindset.

My experience spans across all age groups, professions and backgrounds, with a particular focus on providing support and guidance to vulnerable individuals navigating challenging periods in their lives. Whether it's anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, or the profound experience of loss, I've been privileged to assist clients in finding resilience and strength within themselves.

What sets me apart is not just my extensive experience but also my positive attitude towards the therapeutic journey. I believe in the transformative power of counselling and approach each session with a dedication to fostering a safe and empowering space for growth.
