Tom Evans
Transactional analysis psychotherapistAbout Me
I believe that coming to therapy is a choice towards self-discovery and growth. At times, starting this journey can feel essential and immediate, and at others, it may come from a feeling of being overwhelmed, frustrated, stuck or lost.
Key to this journey being therapeutic is the relationship between you and your therapist. I work in partnership with my clients to build a alliance of mutual respect, trust and acceptance. I am here to offer you a supportive, confidential space to validate your current and past experiences, non-judgmentally, and to walk beside you to make sense of it together.
You may want to bring issues such as low mood/depression, anxiety, intimacy, repeating patterns in relationships or destructive behaviours, difficulties relating to life purpose and meaning, self worth, shame and fear - Although, I encourage you to bring your experience whether it fits into a descriptor or not.
I currently offer short term counselling and long term psychotherapy services to clients, both online and face to face in Leyton E10 (5 min walk from Central line). My practice is wheelchair accessible, LGBTQ+ aware and inclusive, and your ethnic, sexual, gender or relationship identity is fully accepted and welcomed.
I also run closed psychoeducational men's groups. These are closed groups of around 6 people and lasting for 8 weeks in duration. Please get in touch to register your interest.
My special interests include working with relationship, love and intimacy issues experienced by any sex, gender or sexuality.
I’m particularly interested in how male intimacy and vulnerability impacts relationships in a society where emotions are often discouraged and devalued.
How can we offer out, and invite more intimacy in our relationships so that we can feel heard, valued, understood and loved?
