Susanna Hoare Counsellor , BS30
Susanna Hoare is a fully qualified and experienced Core Process Psychotherapist who began therapeutic work with people who suffer from addiction 20 years ago. During this time she began to see how addiction in itself is a trauma and how disconnected sufferers were from their emotions and body. Her search for ways of working with clients to include bodymind eventually brought her to the Karuna Institute in Devon to train as a Core Process Psychotherapist.
Core Process Psychotherapy is an established Mindfulness based psychotherapy which can be of real help when we need to find out who we are and where we are going. Mindfulness is awareness of the present moment with acceptance. Acknowledging and accepting our thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations without judging them or thinking there is a right or a wrong way to think or feel. The ABC of mindfulness is becoming aware of what is going on inside your mind and body, developing the ability to be with your experience without responding automatically so that by seeing things and responding wisely we can make better choices.
