Stephen Phillips
Integrative therapistAbout Me
Our inner critic is the part of us that wants to point out all of our faults. It also assumes it knows how others think and feel about us. Listening to this inner critic can make us feel negative about ourselves.
Working together I will encourage you to:
- BE CURIOUS AND NON-JUDGEMENTAL ABOUT YOUR ANXIETIES, FEELINGS AND BEHAVIOURS
- UNDERSTAND THE PROTECTIVE PARTS OF YOURSELF WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN NECESSARY IN THE PAST, BUT ARE NOT SERVING YOU WELL TODAY.
I believe that the relationship between the client and the therapist is crucial to the success of therapy. I am a fully qualified, experienced and BACP registered therapist. I also tutor counsellors at the beginning of their journey, at a college in Central London.
I provide a safe, supportive, non-judgemental and confidential setting; a place where we can fully determine what is really going on beneath your defences; defences which may have protected you in the past, but may be impeding you today.
The ultimate goal is to establish a healthier, more harmonious internal system.

Fees
My fee is £60 for a 50 minute in-person or on-line session. There are a number of low-cost sessions available for people on Job Seeker's Allowance, or on low incomes. I offer an initial FREE 20 minute Zoom or telephone consultation. I can give you an insight into how I work. You can then decide if you would like us to work together, either at my practice in Oakwood, or via Zoom. Please contact me to discuss more ([email protected]) (07956 357132)
Generally, sessions are weekly, on the same day and time, either at my practice in Oakwood, or on Zoom. They can be on a short term or a long term basis.

I hold an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling (a BACP accredited qualification) from CPPD Counselling School. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists, and I practice in accordance with their ethical framework. I am inspired by a variety of Psychodynamic and Humanistic approaches. I offer both short and long term counselling.
