Stephen Phillips
Integrative therapistAbout Me
We all have an inner critic. Believing everything the inner critic is saying can make us feel negative, and sometimes hopeless. We can now look at everything together with curiosity, and understanding, and without judgement. Working together I will help you to understand and manage your anxiety, your worry, and your depression, and any other difficult feelings.
I believe that the relationship between the client and the therapist is crucial to the success of therapy. I am a fully qualified, experienced, and BACP registered therapist. I also tutor students who are at the beginning of their journey to become qualified counsellors, at a college in Central London.
I provide a safe, supportive, non-judgemental, and confidential setting; a space where we can fully determine what is really going on beneath your defences; defences which may have protected you in the past but may be impeding you today.

Fees
My fee is £60 for a 50 minute in-person or on-line session. There are a number of low-cost sessions available for people on Job Seeker's Allowance, or on low incomes. I offer an initial FREE 20 minute Zoom or telephone consultation. I can give you an insight into how I work. You can then decide if you would like us to work together, either at my practice in Oakwood, or via Zoom. Please contact me to discuss more ([email protected]) (07956 357132)
Generally, sessions are weekly, on the same day and time, either at my practice in Oakwood, or online, on a long or short-term basis.
Training and qualifications
I hold an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling (a BACP accredited qualification) from CPPD Counselling School. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists, and I practice in accordance with their ethical framework. I am inspired by a variety of Psychodynamic and Humanistic approaches. I offer both short and long term counselling.
Besides working in private practice, I currently teach trainee counselling students in Central London. Additionally, I have worked in a variety of settings, including 3 years at a hospice, working with bereaved family members and friends.
