Sheila Allen
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
I am a Registered and Accredited psychotherapist, counsellor and supervisor working in private practice with individuals. I have worked in a variety of settings over the last 17 years, both within private practice, Occupational Health settings and the NHS.
I have a range of skills, knowledge and life experiences which support my role as a therapist and supervisor. My working philosophy is that I am committed to offering all clients a high standard of therapy within a collaborative framework, which recognises the value of therapeutic relationships as key.
I work with those experiencing a broad range of emotional issues and life challenges; perhaps feeling disconnected or overwhelmed with life. This may cause a number of issues for you including anxiety and depression, relationship difficulties, physical health issues or stress. Difficulties may be around work related stress or burnout.
I have a particular interest in issues which arise in the workplace, particularly work related stress, and additionally bereavement, but I am very interested in all aspects of life and offer a compassionate and empathic space in which you are able to reflect on, and explore issues which are causing difficulty for you, perhaps affecting your daily life. I will work with you to support and consider possible solutions that can help you to move forwards and better understand how you feel and why. I believe that understanding ourselves develops confidence and a greater ability to make sense of our own world and the decisions that we make.
