About me

Hi, I'm Semeyra - a BACP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with 14 years experience in helping individuals affected by the full spectrum of relationship, mental health and life challenges. Do you find yourself constantly repeating unhelpful behaviour in your relationships and life? Have you had a recent breakup or problems finding/maintaining relationships? Maybe you are struggling to communicate with your partner or family? Perhaps past trauma is contributing towards your problems? Would you like help to start understanding yourself and others better, improve your relationships and begin living the kind of life you would like? If yes - please email me to arrange an appointment. I have spent my therapy career helping people overcome these problems. As an experienced therapist, I will be able to work with you to understand your current situation in greater depth, which includes understanding what has led you to where you are, your motivations and behaviour.  We will explore and work through what has caused your current difficulties, what might be keeping them going (both internally in the mind and externally) and what and how you might change or adapt.  My special interests/ particular expertise is in working with individual people experiencing a wide range of relationship problems ( including attachment -related issues, repetitive relationship patterns, communication issues, sexual problems, break-ups ) as well as family/estrangement issues and childhood trauma. Having worked for 14 years with individual clients,  I am also now in-training to work with couples alongside my individual work.   As well as my special interests I am also very experienced and able to work with a wide range of other issues including low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, work problems and stress, bereavement, cultural issues It can sometimes be difficult to admit to ourselves that we are struggling and need help. I understand this both personally as well as professionally. However, I also know and have witnessed many times that therapy is life-changing for many people, once they are able to take those first steps.
