About Me

With a Ph.D. in psychological counselling, I have over 15 years’ experience as a mental health practitioner, educator and researcher.

As a mental health counsellor, I can help you to manage your emotions effectively, cope with stress and depression, work on self-confidence, build resilience, improve the quality of relationships and deal with periods of transition. I can help you to understand yourself and what is going on for you in that moment, allowing you the chance to delve into your inner world, exploring what is holding you back in life and impacting your wellbeing.

I’m an integrated counsellor and I use a range of therapeutic approaches, including Person-Centered Counselling, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Approach tailoring my approach according to my individual client’s needs.

I’m registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) in the UK and I adhere to their professional code of ethics. I also undertake continual supervision and professional development.

During the initial session, I will talk you through the counselling process, answer any questions and give you the opportunity to talk to me about the topics you would like to discuss in your sessions.

If you want to get more information or book an appointment, please contact me, call 07398117334 or visit https://www.seldakoydemir.com/mental-health-counselling-practice

In addition to my mental health practice, I have held various research and teaching positions in higher education institutions around the globe. At present I am an Adjunct Professor at the University of Bamberg in Germany, where I teach psychology classes such as “Positive Psychology” and “Psychological Strengths and Wellbeing”. My main research interests are happiness and wellbeing; I study the things that make life worth living.
