Mental health support with me is vastly different; you, the client, is placed in the driving seat. I believe that an individual already has the innate ability to heal and bounce back therefore, the focus needs to be on the lived experience. I use a combination of psychological and counselling approaches to achieve therapeutic goals. I am here to offer guidance and advice of my own; I am not here to tell you what to do, but rather show what could be done.
There are some popular misconceptions about counselling/therapy such as: “you have to be crazy to have therapy” or “you have to be suicidal” or “you have to have a diagnosis”. I can assure you, all of these are untrue – therapy is about having someone walk alongside you in your healing journey, to pick you up when the going gets tough and to part with expert knowledge to help you continue to walk life's journey.
I work in an integrative way. This means I use a variety of psychological and counselling modalities to achieve positive outcomes you. I mainly use attachment-based, cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, existential, mindfulness-based therapy, and psychoeducation.
