Thanks for visiting my profile page.  I am a trained integrative therapist, my initial training combined both Psychodynamic therapy with Person centred therapy.  I have since went on to complete further training in Rational Emotive Behavioural therapy and also a Gestalt Couple's Therapy Certification.  I have worked with many different symptoms as a therapist but I have found that working with addiction and sexuality is my specialization.  I have recently started to work with couples and the purpose for this is that even in individual therapy the couple is always in the room.  

My experience thus far has been working within the prison system conducting short term therapy to men.  I have also worked within the NHS as a therapist and have my own therapy practice.  I believe that creating a trusting environment in the first session will go a long way to develop rapport for future sessions.  I do also use skills to challenge my clients on their actions and behaviours that they want to work on.  Sometimes we can get caught in a circle of justifying our actions even though we do not like them and these light challenges will help to stick with the goals at hand.

I want to create a safe space for all of my clients to come and share their personal stories and struggles.  I believe my own struggles and imperfections led me to this role where I can support others and that life experience really hits home with my clients as they feel like they are working with someone who understands their difficulties.
