Robert Flaherty
CounsellorAbout Me
I am an experienced Counsellor providing one to one therapy in a confidential, professional enviroment in Central London.
Everyone's counselling needs are different. Some people benefit from just a few sessions while others continue for longer. At the first appointment, clients are welcomed into a private, comfortable room to address their concerns and to discuss their personal hopes from counselling. This initial consultation will provide an opportunity to discuss therapy and will allow space to explore any thoughts about the counselling process. The first appointment generally lasts about an hour.
I have worked for 6 years with Drugs and Alcohol issues and am a Master Practitioner of Eating Disorders.
I have been in Private practice for the past 8 years.
I practice integrative therapy which means I work with several approaches. In my case, I draw from Humanistic/Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) and Psychodynamic.
This enables me to offer the type of therapy, or combination of therapies, that is most appropriate for the particular needs of each client.
I work in short term(brief under 12 sessions) and long term (open ended) frameworks.
It is very important for me that my clienst feel comfortable and safe when they come to therapy.
I also offer clients the flexability to come at different times each week as I understand how difficut it can be to come every week at the same time when life in london is so busy.
