Having qualified from UCL in 2008 as a clinical psychologist I have spent the last 15 years in practice working in brain injury, specialist adolescent forensics, psychiatry, autism, ADHD, neuropsychiatry, challenging behaviour/neurobehaviour, and deliberate self harm/personality services. I am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and sit as a member on their Section of Sexualities, the Practice Guidelines Review Group and the Mental Capacity Advisory Board. I regularly teach in university masters and doctoral students in CBT and counselling psychology. As a gay cis-gendered man, and a proud trans ally, I interact regularly with the LGTBQ+ communities, and have provided expert testimony on the standards of private treatment of trans youth for fitness to practice tribunals.
