Rebecca Kelso
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
I provide a warm and supportive space where you can feel comfortable to explore your unique concerns. I work relationally to address your specific needs in a nurturing and safe environment.
I am experienced in working with people living with anxiety and panic attacks, relationship difficulties, disordered eating habits, and body image concerns.
Life throws many things our way which can leave us feeling unsure of how to move forward. Sometimes our relationships and life experiences can prevent us from achieving our true potential and happiness. I work collaboratively with you to look at these relationship patterns to establish your personal narratives, and how these are impacting your life. You can work with me on your specific concerns and the therapy will be tailored to your individual needs.
I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is a key element for growth and change. Therefore, I draw on different philosophies depending on your personal needs and will tailor the therapy to your individual requirements. Approaches used, but not limited to are humanistic, person-centred, cognitive-behaviour therapy, mindfulness, and psychodynamic. I believe in being flexible in these approaches depending on the needs of each individual client, and there is a focus on collaborative working.
I have previous experience working in the NHS and private health care settings. I have also worked with young adults around relationship difficulties and life transitions.
I have a Psychology degree and a Diploma in Integrative Counselling. I am a member of the BACP and follows their ethical guidelines. I have completed further studies in Child and Adolescent therapy with the Place2Be. I also practice Ecotherapy and work outdoors in nature so that you can explore your inner world while connecting with the natural environment. I am trained in Ecotherapy and creative counselling. I have studied with the National Institute of Feeding and Eating Disorders, and I can provide support to those struggling with their relationship with food.
