About Me

Thank you for looking at my profile.

I wonder what has brought you here today? Maybe you've thought about counselling for some time but not had the nudge you've needed to take the next step and actually seek out a counsellor. It's quite a big step, choosing to come to therapy, isn't it? So, let me congratulate you on coming this far. In these difficult times, reaching out can be so hard but is now, perhaps, more necessary than ever.

If you feel that you are ready to explore your inner world, then you will want a therapeutic partner to journey with you. Friends and family can be great but sometimes the best person for you is someone chosen by you, who is experienced and trained in mental wellbeing.

So let me make you my offer. I am here to listen to you, without judgment. Working together, we will create a safe and supportive space where you can feel comfortable in speaking your thoughts. A space without agenda or expectation, where every aspect of who you are will be respected and accepted without conditions or strings attached.

I don't give advice, or problem solve for you and I don't claim to have all the answers. I am not the expert on you. You are the expert on you. But I will try my best to follow you and to understand how you see things and why you see them in the way you do. Sometimes I may gently challenge you. Or encourage you to take a risk that may help change the status quo. But you will always be in control of what we do, and where we travel to in your therapeutic journey.

Clients have described me as warm, empathic and encouraging. For the moment, we will work online and when it is safe to do so, I will be able to welcome you to in-person sessions, if you prefer. I hope to provide you with an experience that will leave you feeling empowered and ready to continue on your journey.

There is a saying in my spiritual tradition - "Come as far as you can and I will meet you there." If you feel you are ready to take that first step with me, please get in touch.

I'm looking forward to meeting you.

Rachel
