About Me

Welcome. My name is Paulette and I’m a BACP registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I suspect that you’ve had to look through a number of profiles before you reached mine, so thank you for persevering. My approach focuses on an integrative style of counselling and therapy. My work with you will be a partnership in that you will have a voice in the direction of your therapy and that this is done by working within the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Ethical Framework.

I have a friendly, warm and thoughtful style of working and as a woman of colour, I am able to consider cultures other than my own. I also work in a way that looks at how the different identities you might hold can shape the way in which life events can impact you.

Integrative therapy can meet the needs of the individual through a holistic approach to therapy.  This involves combining ideas and techniques from different therapeutic schools such as person centred, psychodynamic and gestalt therapy.  However, this is all dependent on what your needs maybe.  How this works in practice is that it enables me to offer a more flexible and inclusive approach.  The holistic approach aspires to consider your mental, physical, and emotional health needs in a unified way.  This is done by working together to understand the sources of your anxiety, unhappiness, physical discomfort, or unhealthy behaviour patterns.

I look forward to hearing from you but until then take care.
