Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
I am a BACP registered practitioner, practicing integrative psychotherapy. If you'd like an overview of integrative psychotherapy you will find a URL at the bottom of this text.
Assuming you have problems more and less urgent; so do I. I will not discuss my problems with you, unless you become one of them.
We’d like to understand situations and feelings and ideas as they are, as well as how we wish them to be. We'd like to be 'realists', as well as 'fantasists'. Reality and fantasy are very much entwined in each of us. Let's suppose for practical purposes 'reality' is the demands life makes of us, and 'fantasy' is our our inner universe of feelings and images, hopes and anxieties. Both are necessary and inevitable. Psychotherapy involves bringing these aspects of ourselves into greater understanding, to increase our satisfaction in time and relationships. It helps us live a richer, more fulfilled, insightful life.
We all face extraordinary challenges. We all are bereft, sooner or later, for many reasons; we are all anxious and conflicted. Ultimately of course what we do with what we find is a matter for each of us individually.
As adults we have choices and we assume responsibilities voluntarily. The enlightening, liberating gift of therapy is coming to appreciate that LIVING is voluntary. This is your life. My job is to help you make sense for yourself and take responsibility and be committed to life.
I offer 50 minutes of safe space at the agreed time, preferably weekly, in which clients do by far most of the talking. I operate a limited cancellation policy which means clients can cancel four sessions in any 12-month period without charge. The balance of sessions attended and cancelled are invoiced. I will invoice four weeks' written notice of termination. Quite properly, clients expect me to be there for them as contracted (and if they don't, why don't they?). Not least, this is my business, it is not a charity; like you, I have expenses.
I guarantee results. Call or email me for an initial consultation.
