About Me

Welcome

These last few years have been difficult and no one has come through unscathed.

So are you:

- Feeling overwhelmed, on edge, irritable and/or restless?

- Struggling to concentrate, focus, make decisions and/or prioritise?

- Experiencing physical symptoms of rapid heartbeat, upset stomach, shaking hands and/or muscle tension?

If you answered yes to any of those, you’re probably struggling with anxiety. If so, you’re not alone. I work with people just like you to find ways of coping, managing, minimising or getting rid of anxiety.

So contact me now on   [email protected] or use the 'contact me' button above, and let’s start creating a positive future.

About me

I am Olga Chernyavska with a qualification in Humanistic Integrative Counselling and additional certificate to work online. With over a decade experience in a therapeutic field, I am known to help my client to improve relationships with themselves and others, achieve ability to better deal with overwhelming situations (stress, anxiety), feel calmer, react appropriately to here/now (not the past), increase kindness and compassion, enhance capacity to address their needs and self-care, realise own boundaries and learn to say ‘no' as well as find a balance.

My Work-Related Qualifications and Knowledge

I have a recognised qualification in equality and diversity. I completed formal work-related health and safety training. These give me insight into people's experiences in relation to work problems and stress.

I have a particular experience of working with people with physical disabilities. I have been actively involved in Disabled Staff forum, promoting equality and inclusion for all. I keep myself updated through my links with professionals, academics and community, regarding latest developments.

What I Offer

Humanistic Integrative Counselling. I can help you to explore your current situation and the possible ways to cope and/or make changes.

Psychotherapy is usually a longer process with a commitment to look at the childhood roots of your problems/difficulties. Much of my training has had a strong focus on the impact of a childhood trauma, which tends to have a significant impact on an adulthood life. I can help you to understand your past and take steps to heal yourself.

Time Line Therapy™ (TLT™) as an advanced form of NLP. The goal of it is to release inappropriate and unwarranted chains of difficult and/or painful emotions (such as anger, sadness, fear, hurt, guilt, anxiety) in a few sessions. TLT™ also helps to clear limiting beliefs. You will not be asked to immerse yourself into painful memories during this process.

An assessment is required to determine a suitability of this technique for you.

Individual Kundalini Yoga sessions or workshops. Kundalini is a life-force energy, which is located at the base of our spine. It is activated during Kundalini Yoga practice, which includes body movement, chanting mantras, breathing and meditation. Activation of Kundalini is referred to as a Kundalini Awakening, which moves from the base of our spine up through the chakras in order for an individual to experience an expanded state of consciousness. Kundalini Yoga will help you to get out of your head and reconnect with your body to achieve wholeness.

Yoga incorporated into counselling and psychotherapy creates a balanced body and mind approach to emotional healing. Physical movements from yoga can be used to release some struggles you are experiencing and this could be especially suitable for people, who struggle to express themselves through words. Yoga movements and breath help to regulate nervous system, enable emotional healing and acceptance. Meditation can help you to notice bodily sensations to relate them to your emotions and feelings.

Training and qualifications

My Education, Qualifications and Continuous Professional Development

During my BSc Psychology degree I learnt how biological, psychological and social factors influence human health and as a therapist I aim to utilise this to enable a positive state of wellbeing.

My MA Social Work degree introduced me to empowerment, enablement, task-centred, solution-focused and strength-based approaches. I also integrate them into my counselling practice.

I originally trained in Humanistic Integrative Counselling, which covered various theories. I constantly build on my psychotherapy approach through further training (I am in my final year of Anthroposophical Psychotherapy), research and regular supervision.

I am a qualified Kundalini Yoga Teacher and Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner. I use these in my practice if and when appropriate. I continue reading and attending various courses on yoga, health, energy and healing.
