About Me

It can really help to talk when we are going through difficult times in our life.  Whatever you are facing and however hopeless it may feel. I can help you make better sense of what is going on for you and together we can work towards positive change. As a psychodynamic psychotherapist, I have worked with people from different backgrounds and on a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, trauma, personality disorder, ADHD, self-harm, identity problems, relationship difficulties, eating disorders, sexual and emotional abuse, family breakdown and bereavement.

With a background in the finance industry which has included helping develop people in high pressure organisations, I understand the workplace pressure that can arise resulting in anxiety, stress, loss of confidence and self-esteem issues. I also have experience and interest in body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), personality and eating disorders. Additionally, I have worked in a crisis service supporting a range of issues including, suicide, self-harm, abuse, bullying, isolation and anxiety.

The work that I do is insight based exploring negative thought patterns and behaviours we’ve learnt in our early lives. What sets the Psychodynamic approach apart from other therapies is that it is in-depth and used to discover the root of our emotional difficulties. There’s no set agenda, this is for you to talk freely about whatever it is on your mind.

Sharing thoughts and feelings might seem daunting, yet many people find it helpful to talk to an objective professionally trained person. Whether you feel stuck or unable to make changes in your life as you would like, I will work at your pace to better understand the things that are causing you concern or difficulties. I enjoy building strong, trusting relationships with my clients, to empower them to move forwards with their lives.
