Hi, I’m Matt.

I'm an integrative counsellor and a mindfulness/meditation specialist. For many years I’ve been studying the mind body relationship, observing how our minds really work and how it can sometimes seem like they don’t want us to be happy. Thoughts arise in the mind, emotions in the body. It's only by understanding both that we can truly fix things. 

Using traditional counselling techniques, and others developed through years of practice in mindfulness and meditation, I will help you develop the tools to better understand and process your thoughts and emotions, gaining a greater joy and control in your life.

I have helped people with long term issues such as severe anxiety, OCD, depression, self harm, rage and trauma. I also have experience working with low self esteem, relationship issues and bereavement. Whatever you are here for, you remain the expert on you, and we will always seek to help you find the answers, together. Understanding brings real peace. Even in the most difficult of circumstances. At times we all feel overwhelmed, anxious, low, or just need a place to get some clarity. Talking to someone can really help. In fact, it can be life changing.

My therapeutic system has helped clients from many different backgrounds. It is based on three fundamental pillars.

Exploration: Exploring how we really think and feel about ourselves and our lives, can really change things in ways we never expected. All our work together will take place in a safe and non-judgemental space where any issues can be explored in-depth and with compassion, to foster the growth you wish to see in your life.

Integration: Using techniques developed through many years of practice in the field of mindfulness and meditation, I will help you develop the tools to understand and integrate negative thoughts and emotions rather than trying (and failing) to push them away.

Together, from a place of comfort and relaxation, we’ll enquire what these troublesome feelings want, helping you understand them and most importantly diminish the suffering they cause.

Meditation: I am a fully qualified mindfulness and meditation teacher proficient in teaching the four main schools of meditation. Meditation isn’t a religious practice or the product of the yoga studio. It’s an effective brain training tool that science is busy proving can provide stability, calm and peace; revealing our strong intuitive Self beneath all the thinking.
